Destiny of Spirits coming to PS Vita

So another Free-to-play game is coming to the PS Vita. Destiny of Spirits is said to be released later this year. It is a location-based strategy game where players from around the world will play cooperatively in a  turn-based action to battle fierce bosses to unlock an expansive virtual world.

The feature as described as:

"Using location technology, the game places players on a global map, creating a hyper-social experience, where the player is connected to and working with others collectively to progress and unlock powerful new Spirits that can be unleashed during combat to defeat enemies."

So this will be an online game where I think player interaction will be a huge factor which what an online game should be. This game looks promising and excites me reading the description alone and I can't wait for the trailer. I'll keep you all posted when the exact release date is announced and a trailer and screenshots are released. Have a nice day!

Dragon's Dogma will hit PS Vita in Japan. The game was released on the PS3 and it was a big hit, the game is a 3rd person adventure game but it will be different for the PS Vita System. The Ps Vita version will be an online only and a turn based RPG game. Most people in Japan loves turn based games so it might be a huge hit there, but I'm not sure if it will be a huge hit when it is released on other regions.

Dragons Dogma will be free to play and will feature over 150 classes, old enemies and new will make an appearance. Familiar characters, like Julian and Mercedes, will make their return, along with new characters named Lota and Olivia. Currently the game is set for a 2013 release in Japan however when asked about a US/EU release a Capcom representative replied with:
“At present Dragon’s Dogma Quest is only confirmed for release in Japan and we are currently evaluating ifthe title will be released in pan-western markets.”

ZRun Announced For PS Vita

Zrun is a 3rd person shooter game where your main objective is run and beat zombies down along the road. For me, this game is like and upgraded version of temple run.

Here is more about the game:
ZRun™ is a non-stop running action game in a zombie-infested world features:

  • Run and avoid obstacles – hitting obstacles stops and hurts you

  • Evade or attack zombies – if they attack you, you’ll get hurt and die

  • Watch your stamina – every action costs some

  • Pick up and use stuff as weapon – the bat, tube, guitar, swords, etc.

  • Use firearms to get rid of zombie real quick – watch out for ammo, its limited

  • Multiple characters, each with own distinct melee attack

  • Explore the city and find the way out. New areas unlocked on successful run completion

  • Upgrade and customize your character

  • Campaign and endless survival mode

  • Compete and collaborate with your PlayStation Network friends with street records scoreboards and using “near” for useful items exchange.

The first wave of beta for Killzone:Mercenary will be very awesome for those you have it since they will be one of the ones who will play the game first and experience its greatness. After playing the game, beta testers may report bug and glitches that they think should not be in the game (well all glitches should really not be in the game in the first place) and developers will try to fix it, that is if it reaches a certain amount of report for that glitch/bug. The early wave BETA will be obtainable by playing and go to the E3  virtual booth, there will be a way to get the BETA right there.

Read this to know more about the virtual E3 booth:

Toro’s Friend Network PS vita

So sony have released an application called "Toro's Friendly Network" or "みんなといっしょ" in japanese. This application is like the "Playstation Home" on the PS3 but it's main focus is on having new friends in your PSN account. PS Home is still better, but this one also looks promising plus there will also be mini games in this but not as good as the ones on PS3 Playstayion Home.

See this statement:
With the ultimate goal of reaching 100 friends within Friend Network, lobbies are available where players can meet new friends and exchange virtual “business cards.” These cards contain information that players can use to get to know others within Friend Network,” explains .

The app also features Facebook and Twitter integration, which lets you see which friends are also participating in Friend Network and add them immediately.

The second app, Imaginstruments, is out in Europe and hits the NA PS Store in Spring. It’s a music-making app which lets you create and manipulate a range of sounds and instruments.

“Players can create whole songs from scratch and save them to on PS Vita memory cards. Using three distinct song creation tools, players can compose a virtually endless amount of unique music. Players can edit drum tracks in the “Passive” mode to create complex rhythms for their tracks, then switch over to “Active” mode to create melodies using instruments like the guitar or violin,” says Sony.

Sony requires game developers for PS4 to support remote play on PS Vita

It seems that Sony requires that all PS4 games to support remote play on PS Vita except for those games which will support Playstation 4 camera, according to Digital Foundry's "trusted PlayStation 4 developer source with a proven track record."

If this is true, it is most likely that the PS Vita will have more sales which may also make the game developers more interested in the PS Vita, which means more games for the system. Many of the consumers were disappointed about the PS3 and PS Vita's remote play but it seems like the remote play is really intended for the PS4. This is a good plus with those who already have a PS Vita.

It looks like that this feature will be better than that of Wii U according to some. The PS Vita can't match the PS4 controller when in comes to button, but do you remember the accessory port which is not yet very clear to everyone what accessories support it? I think that will be very useful for the remote play functionality.

Ok enough of that, let's just talk a bit about how the remote play will work since the PS4 is a lot more powerful than the Vita. The service works by rendering the game as video and transmitting the images wirelessly over the users' local network (LAN) to the PS Vita in a fashion similar to cloud-powered game services. So it's just like watching the game on your vita's screen while the PS4 does all the job and at the same time using your PS Vita buttons to play the game. To make it simpler, your PS Vita will just be an alternative screen and controller so the game speed will not suffer.

Here is a video about sony revealing the remoteplay service:
